The Log Cabin quilt pattern is one of the most beloved and recognized of quilt designs. I have always had a fondness and appreciation for Log Cabin quilts, and this quilt is a modern interpretation. I chose to make it out of solids in various shades of gray, ranging from an almost white to not quite black. I did keep the traditional red center which symbolizes the hearth of home. The quilt blocks are also oversized, the entire quilt is made up of only four quilt blocks. The arrangement of Log Cabin blocks can create a wide variety of secondary patterns. I chose an arrangement where the secondary pattern looks like a Broken Dishes block.
