Blue Beetle

My brain naturally thrives on pattern, order, and compartmentalization, and so creating this beetle pixel by pixel was both meditative and thrilling. I revel in the tedium and celebrate the slow march to completion.
Discovering multicolored, shimmering beetles preserved with a pin has always been a highlight in museum tours. My aim was to capture a sense of that discovery and wonderment with this giant blue beetle.
